Anyone who has ever worked outside on a cold winter day knows of the pros of a warm padded vest: freedom of arm movement, warm body and no sweat! So, badabing.
SPECS:
PATTERN: An all original MFSC design. Inspired by 1950’s outdoor quilted vests, vintage hunting and artic wear.
FIT: Snug fit for minimum air circulation between body and lining. Can be worn over jacket, over shirt or under jacket. Size accordingly.
FABRIC: Four fabric options, all milled in Japan, exclusively for MFSC
1) Rayon/Cotton “Breezer” type BLACK
2) Rayon/Cotton “Breezer” type ROYAL BLUE
3) Midnight Twill, 10 oz., Indigo warp x black weft (aka ‘black back denim’)
4) Indigo selvedge denim, Okinawa SC 301, 50% sugar cane x 50% cotton fibers, 14 oz.
PADDING: 100% cotton padding, same as used in 1950’s Silk souvenir Jackets. Quilted to face, not to lining.
LINING: Blue MFSC 100% cotton chambray, white/red ID selvedge.
COLLAR: 100% wool MIL-SPECS navy blue knit.
CLOSURE: Full 1950s style “Conmar” metal zipper, cotton taping. Top snaps for full front top zip-up.
POCKETS: Two front denim ‘expansion fold’ pockets, one back pocket. Flap top with Fiocchi snap. Denim is 10 oz. Okinawa indigo selvedge SugarCane (50% cotton – 50% sugar cane fiber). Reinforcement corner metal rivets.
GUSSETS: 100% wool MIL-SPECS navy blue elastic knit.
DETAILS: Extended back tail, for protection when bending. 100% cotton tonal stitching…
WASHING: Washable on ‘delicate’ cycle, minimal soap, cold water, hung dry (Also dry cleanable.)

Yet another set of stripeys! We had in stock a small amount of New Old Stock fabric that was calling to get cut and sewn. So we pulled out an early pattern of boating naval jerseys and made a limited batch of shirts.
I will be posting different versions of the MF® Boating Jerseys soon, but here is one of our favorites for now…
Can be worn tucked in as an undershirt under a chambray, or out “Bretagne” style… Also under a short sleeve plain Tshirt. Your call sailor!

PATTERN: Inspired by early european sailor jerseys. Boat neck construction. 3/4 sleeves. Slim fit, not the boxy modern tourist type.
DETAILS: Side slits. Extended back tail. Custom ID solid sheeting front patch, ready for perso stencyl. 100% cotton royal blue thread stitching. Natural white all cotton ‘baby overlock’ side seams.
Manufactured in the USA, baby. (Yeah, we try when we can). Very Limited one-time Edition.

For layering this winter, here is our CPO pattern issued in a newly developped fabric: The MFSC 189-od “Off Duty” CPO shirt. Meant to be worn as an overshirt, over a chambray shirt, stripe jersey etc…
SPECS:
PATTERN: An all original MFSC pattern, inspired by 1920’s-30’s military/uniform shirting.
FABRIC: A plain weave exclusive original MFSC all cotton fabric, 10 oz., woven indigo and natural yarns, milled in Japan. Unsanforized, shrinkage up to 5%. Inspiration behind this original fabric came from a vintage pair of 1920’s USN wool trousers. The inner lining and pocket bags were made of a plain weave indigo/ivory cotton fabric, about 7 Oz.
DETAILS: Metal military snaps, long chin strap, elbow reinforcement, double shoulder patch, yoke back, selvedge blue chambray side gussets, buttoned belly flap, triple snap wrists, indigo popeline/blue chambray facing, underarm blue chambray gussets, inside chest passport pocket…
WASHING: Although minimal bleeding is expected due to the indigo yarn, this one is low-maintenace. Can be washed/dryed when needed.

Just in time for the changing weather, here are the MFSC “Union Fleece”, type 650, another fold of MISTER FREEDOM® x SUGAR CANE Fall 2010 Collection. Meant to be worn as undershirts, those all cotton fleece tops should keep you warm this winter… This is a small limited batch.
SPECS:
PATTERN: Inspired by early American and European thermal undershirts, with original MFSC signature contrast placketing.
FABRIC: Tubular (no side seams) all cotton heavy fleece body, brushed inside for softness, heather grey colour. Milled in Japan.

Since we’re swimming in the indigo bath, here is a modified issue of our beloved MFSC CPO shirt… We guarantee you smurf hands and indigo skivies with this one.

DETAILS: Metal military snaps, long chin strap, elbow reinforcement, double shoulder patch, yoke back, selvedge chambray side gussets, buttoned belly flap, triple snap wrists, indigo popeline/blue chambray facing, underarm chambray gussets, inside chest passport pocket…
WASHING: Please do not BOIL this one! We recommend wearing the shirt raw. You can spray it with water to get some shrinkage (full shrinkage is about a full size down), and wear it damp to mold to your body (no white undershirt!). Can be dry cleaned in the future.
If you need to wash this shirt, cold water and very minimal soap, inside out. NO dryer. The reason for all this is to maximize the beauty of the fading that is guarenteed to happen with repeat wear.
