Mister Freedom® MFSC type 189-mn “Midnight” CPO Shirt

MidnightCPO-(1)
 MidnightCPO-(3) MidnightCPOMidnightCPO-(4) MidnightCPO-(5)

Since we’re swimming in the indigo bath, here is a modified issue of our beloved MFSC CPO shirt… We guarantee you smurf hands and indigo skivies with this one.

SPECS:

PATTERN: An all original MFSC pattern, inspired by 1920’s-30’s military/uniform shirting.
FABRIC: 10 oz. Indigo warp/black weft twill (with royal blue selvedge ID), aka “MFSC midnight denim”, aka black back denim, aka ‘the bleeder’. Unsanforized
DETAILS: Metal military snaps, long chin strap, elbow reinforcement, double shoulder patch, yoke back, selvedge chambray side gussets, buttoned belly flap, triple snap wrists, indigo popeline/blue chambray facing, underarm chambray gussets, inside chest passport pocket…

WASHING: Please do not BOIL this one! We recommend wearing the shirt raw. You can spray it with water to get some shrinkage (full shrinkage is about a full size down), and wear it damp to mold to your body (no white undershirt!). Can be dry cleaned in the future.
If you need to wash this shirt, cold water and very minimal soap, inside out. NO dryer. The reason for all this is to maximize the beauty of the fading that is guarenteed to happen with repeat wear.

Designed in California by MISTER FREEDOM® and manufactured in japan by SUGAR CANE Co.

Available RAW (unwashed)
Sizes S, M, L XL
Retail $384.95

Movin’ right along, here is our interpretation of the stripe jersey undershirt, favored for a century by sailors, fishermen, and those they influenced around the globe…
We were welcomed by a big NO THANK YOU when we asked the Japanese knit milling factory to use actual indigo dyed yarn for the blue stripes (it messes up the knitting machines)…Well, we made them an offer they couldn’t refuse. We wanted a shirt that will look like a million bucks down the line, when it’s all faded and worn…
There you go:

SPECS:
PATTERN: Inspired by original vintage “tricot marin” or “marinière” of the French “Marine Nationale”.
FABRIC: All cotton jersey 2 by 1 ribbed knit, stripe pattern.

MFSC “Midnight Rider’s”, Mister Freedom® x Sugar Cane, Spring 2010: The “Speed Safe Clothing for Modern Riders” Collection.

Man, do we love those dungarees here! Can’t stop wearing them and noticing the indigo abrasion everyday. Impossible for me to photographically capture the beauty of the fabric, but the combo indigo “soaked” yarn warp and black dyed yarn weft has a life of it’s own. You’ll see…
The face of the raw fabric looks like a rich very dark indigo/black. The inside looks black.

SPECS:

* Pattern: An all original MFSC pattern, inspired by twill work chino pants, old denim dungarees and European 20’s-30’s slacks.
* Fabric: 10 oz. original MFSC exclusive denim cotton twill, milled in Japan. Indigo warp x black weft. Royal blue selvedge ID. Non-sanforized (=not pre-shrunk).
Expect an average shrinkage of 5%, and recurring shrinking/stretching with wash and wear. Wash with COLD water, minimal mild detergent to keep the indigo contrast and starch.
* Silhouette: 1930’s work slacks, straight leg.
* Pockets: Slash front pockets/Back “never ripum” style pockets/Ankle “tools-maps” pockets/Watch-Zippo pocket.
* Pocketing: MFSC original blue Chambray (end-on-end) cotton. NOS plaid fabric lining for watch-Zippo pocket.

The “Midnight Rider’s” featured on the photos are my own (dirty) pair, worn raw for about 1+ month, still unwashed, NFS.
Stock issues are RAW and not artificially aged. Get your own whiskers, baby! Also expect some indigo “bleeding” on underwear or undershirts, goes with the territory…You can soak the garment in water/vinegar to limit that.
